Warri Federal Constituency ward delineation: The story so far

The Ethiope Federal Constituency has expressed deep dissatisfaction with the performance of its representative, Hon. Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu.

According to the constituency leaders and stakeholders, Ibori-Suenu has failed to effectively represent the interests of the constituency since her election.

The criticism stems from her perceived absence, lack of vocal advocacy, and limited legislative productivity.

A high-powered strategic meeting was held in Eku, Ethiope East Local Government Area, where the leaders and stakeholders unanimously resolved to reposition the constituency for the 2027 elections.

They plan to achieve this by mobilizing aggressively at the grassroots level and presenting a more competent, visible, and people-focused candidate who can restore the constituency’s legislative relevance at the national level.

Former House of Representatives member for the constituency, Hon. Halims Agoda, delivered a scathing critique of Ibori-Suenu’s performance. He emphasized that true representation demands physical presence, vocal advocacy, and legislative productivity, all of which he believes are lacking in Ibori-Suenu’s representation.

Agoda cited a recent incident where another lawmaker had to defend the constituency’s interests, highlighting the need for a more capable representative.

The meeting also featured remarks from other prominent figures, including Senator Ighoyota Amori, Chief Adviser to the Governor, who reaffirmed the constituency’s loyalty to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori. Amori described Ethiope as the political heartbeat of Delta Central and expressed confidence in the constituency’s ability to deliver a decisive victory in 2027.

The stakeholders adopted a resolution expressing confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, endorsing them as their sole candidates for the 2027 general elections.

The meeting concluded with a renewed sense of determination among stakeholders to take control of the constituency’s political future and ensure effective representation in the National Assembly.
