The State Commissioner for Works (Highways and Urban Roads), Comrade Reuben Izeze has said the Orere Bridge project, a N29.2 billion infrastructure development, has reached an impressive 77.67% completion stage.

He said the 500-meter reinforced concrete bridge, accompanied by a 4.363-kilometer access road, a 1.040-kilometer arterial road, and a 0.350-kilometer spur road, is being closely monitored by the Delta State Government.

He further explained that All piles and abutments have been completed as well as the Longitudinal beams

Izeze also stated that 25 spans of the deck slab are already done while Sharp sand dredging and filling have reached about 75% completion.

Construction of the concrete retaining wall is also at about 75%

Comrade Izeze has attributed the project’s progress to its commitment to supporting contractors through prompt payment of certified works.

The State Commissioner for Works (Highway and Urban Roads) emphasized the need for the contractor to adhere to agreed timelines, noting that the government has provided a conducive environment for contractors.

The Orere Bridge project is expected to provide relief and improved infrastructure to the people of Orere and adjoining communities.

With the project nearing completion, the government is optimistic that it will be finished soon, meeting the needs of the residents and boosting the local economy.
