The candidate of the National Democratic Congress, NDC, for Burutu North Constituency 1 in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Godwin Masah, has said the time has come for a paradigm shift in the politics of the constituency.

Masah stated this in a political address to constituents of Burutu North on Wednesday, where he declared that politics in the area has reached a defining moment.

According to him, the question before the electorate is no longer about who wants to run, but about who can deliver purposeful representation.

“The Masah Godwin political question is simple and direct: Do we want to continue with politics of absence, or do we want a Burutu that works for all?” he asked.

The House of Assembly hopeful lamented that for too long, representation has been distant from the people, noting that creeks, communities and youths have felt the impact of leadership that does not listen, return or deliver.

He said Burutu North is blessed with viable but moribund infrastructure and some of the finest brains capable of turning things around using the instrumentality of government, yet the people are yet to see results despite the abundance of water, people and land.

Masah said his aspiration embodies a shift anchored on his philosophy of Burutu First, adding that he brings three things the constituency has been yearning for – experience to understand the struggle, representation to give the people a voice, and results to change their story.

He described his aspiration as not just another ambition but a clarion call to fishermen in Ngbilebiri, mothers in Ogulagha, youths in Odimodi, elders in Forcados and other communities who have been on the sidelines demanding answers.

The candidate therefore called on constituents to unite beyond ward politics and personal interests.

“Come all ye, let’s do it together,” Masah told his supporters.

He said the question before the constituency in the forthcoming election is not about him alone but about the collective future of Burutu North and whether the people want to remain spectators or take ownership of their future.

He urged constituents to take the message to their neighbours, friends, families and communities, warning that keeping quiet in the face of failure means losing the moral right to complain when failure becomes the future.

As at press time, All efforts to get other political party candidates to state their manifestos proved abortive.
