The newly inaugurated Siakpere’s Team for Oborevwori 2027 has declared full support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, Senator Ede Dafinone and other All Progressives Congress candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The declaration was made on Friday at Aghalokpe, Okpe Local Government Area, during the inauguration and flag-off of the group’s grassroots mobilisation campaign for Governor Oborevwori’s re-election. The team is led by Barr. John Ewhubare Siakpere as Director-General.

Speaking on behalf of Governor Oborevwori, his Special Adviser on Political Matters, Chief Ramson Ikweki, commended Siakpere for his contributions to the development of Okpe Kingdom and Delta State. He said the governor expects Okpe to deliver massive votes for Tinubu, Oborevwori, Dafinone, Ramson Onoyake and Hon. James Augoye in 2027.

Ikweki said the Oborevwori administration remains committed to prudent management of state resources and equitable spread of development. He urged residents to stay united and support government programmes in education, healthcare, employment and infrastructure, while assuring that their concerns would be conveyed to the governor.

The APC State Chairman, Chief Solomon Arenyeka, who was Special Guest of Honour, described support groups as critical tools for grassroots mobilisation. He disclosed that the party would strengthen and coordinate all support groups under a broader APC structure to drive voter mobilisation across wards and polling units.

Arenyeka charged members of Siakpere’s Team to take the campaign to every community, ward, unit and household, insisting on total commitment. “We do not want to hear 60 per cent. We do not want to hear 69 per cent. We want to hear 100 per cent,” he said, stressing that mobilisation requires physical engagement of the electorate.

The APC State Secretary and Chairman of the occasion, Chief Efe Uko, praised Siakpere for his role in Oborevwori’s emergence in 2023. He said the administration has delivered visible dividends, citing the Southern Delta University campus at Orerokpe and the proposed teaching hospital at Osubi as landmark projects for Okpe.

Uko noted that the Orerokpe campus has changed the educational status of one of the oldest local government headquarters in the state, which previously had no higher institution. He expressed optimism that it could become a full-fledged university before the end of the governor’s tenure and urged Okpe people to reciprocate with massive support for APC candidates.

Member representing Okpe State Constituency, Hon. James Augoye, thanked Siakpere for investing his time and resources in the initiative, noting that Siakpere is not a career politician but a supporter of good governance. He said Delta has witnessed significant progress in the last three years and called for patience and continuity for the administration to consolidate its gains.

Earlier, Siakpere said the inauguration marked the formal start of mobilisation for Oborevwori’s re-election, motivated by the impact of the governor’s M.O.R.E. Agenda, including flyovers, road dualisation and the Esezi Road project in Okpe. The team also endorsed Dafinone, Onoyake and Augoye. The ceremony featured disbursement of cash grants to 40 residents and was attended by top government officials, party leaders and community stakeholders.
