The Edo State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Cyril Mathew, confirmed the incident, stating that one person died and five others were injured in the crash.

Mathew explained that the students were driving in a convoy after writing their last paper and one of them attempted to overtake another vehicle, resulting in the fatal accident.
