Chief Thompson Robert-Fuoye, former APC aspirant for the Burutu Federal Constituency seat, has restated his commitment to grassroots politics and ongoing engagement with supporters after returning to thank those who backed him during the party’s primary election.

During a thank-you visit to APC stakeholders and members of his support group in Burutu, Robert-Fuoye said his visit was a show of political maturity and loyalty now that the primaries were over.

The meeting drew key figures including former Niger Delta Affairs Minister Goddey Peter Orubebe, Chairman of Delta State Maritime Polytechnic Burutu Chief Julius Tarabiri Government, and High Chief Mike Loyibo, Prime Minister of Tuomo, along with party leaders and supporters from across the constituency.

Speaking to the gathering, Robert-Fuoye thanked supporters for their dedication and faith in his House of Representatives bid. He stressed that political ties shouldn’t end at the polls and urged continuous connection with the people.

“I came back to say thank you because your support, loyalty, and belief throughout the journey remain deeply appreciated. Elections may come and go, but the bond built with the people must continue,” he said.

Although he didn’t win the APC ticket, Robert-Fuoye said the experience reinforced his view that real leadership starts at the grassroots.

“My conviction remains that leadership begins with the people. Grassroots politics is not just about elections; it is about service, engagement, and maintaining strong relationships with the communities,” he stated.

He called on party members to stay united and back the APC, adding that collective effort is key to the party’s success at all levels. Robert-Fuoye also urged loyalty to the party and support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s administrations.

The gathering doubled as a discussion forum on community development, political inclusion, and ways to strengthen APC structures in Burutu Federal Constituency.

Stakeholders praised Robert-Fuoye for returning to personally thank supporters, calling it rare in today’s politics. Elder Orubebe and other leaders stressed unity and sustained collaboration, saying stronger engagement would create more opportunities for the constituency. They added that grassroots mobilisation is vital for development and better representation in Burutu.

Supporters pledged continued solidarity with Robert-Fuoye, saying his visit reflected people-centered leadership and raising hopes for future political engagements.

For many at the event, it was more than a post-election thank-you — it was a reaffirmation of loyalty, political continuity, and the lasting power of grassroots mobilisation in Burutu.
