Former Uvwie Local Government Chairman Hon. Ramson Tega Onoyake has won the All Progressives Congress primary for the Okpe, Sapele, and Uvwie (OSU) Federal Constituency in a decisive landslide.
The primary, held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, took place across all 10 wards in Uvwie LGA. Party officials and observers reported a large turnout of members and described the exercise as peaceful and orderly throughout.

Uvwie LGA Chairman Hon. Chief Anthony Onoriode Ofoni, who voted at Ward 7, commended the calm conduct of voters and the organization of the process. He said the strong participation reflected the growing internal democracy within the APC and the party’s focus on selecting a candidate capable of winning in 2027.
Ofoni also praised security agencies, party monitors, and community leaders for ensuring decorum during the vote. According to him, the peaceful atmosphere demonstrated Uvwie’s commitment to non-violent politics.
APC Uvwie LGA Chairman Comrade Sylvester Oghenevwede said the outcome gives the party solid momentum to contest and win the OSU seat in the next general elections.
After sorting and counting, Onoyake was confirmed as the APC candidate for the OSU Federal Constituency. Celebrations broke out across Effurun and surrounding communities, with supporters calling the result the start of a new chapter in representation for the constituency.
Hon. Victor Okoloba of the Effurun Community Development Committee said monitors recorded no incidents of violence or disruption during the exercise.
Former House of Representatives member Rt. Hon. Evelyn Oboro described the process as transparent and urged APC members to unite behind Onoyake ahead of the 2027 polls.
