Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oberevwori has congratulated the Orodje of Okpe Kingdom on his 20th coronation anniversary.
The felicitation was contained in a statement issued in Asaba on Wednesday by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary.
The governor described the two decades of the monarch’s reign as one defined by peace, wisdom, and exemplary leadership. He said the period has brought purposeful guidance to the Okpe people.
The traditional ruler who also doubles as Chairman of the Delta State Traditional Rulers Council has continued to play a stabilizing role across the state, the governor noted.
Speaking on behalf of the government and people of Delta, the governor said the milestone was remarkable.
He acknowledged the king’s long years of service to his kingdom and to the state at large.
The statement credited the reign with promoting unity, advocating development, and preserving cultural heritage.
It also recognized the monarch as a strong partner in governance.
As head of the state’s traditional rulers council, the king has served as a voice of reason, the governor said.
His interventions have helped foster peace and harmony in various communities.
The governor commended the monarch for his fatherly role, counsel to government, and dedication to the welfare of his subjects.
He prayed for more years of good health and a peaceful reign.
The governor joined the people of Okpe Kingdom, the Urhobo nation, the Traditional Rulers Council and well-wishers to mark the anniversary.
He urged continued support for the monarch’s vision of a united and prosperous kingdom.
