Governors Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State and Hope Uzodimma of Imo State along with former Delta Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, have rallied the South-South APC to unify messaging and mobilize grassroots support for the 2027 elections.
The South-South Strategic Communications and Mobilisation Summit in Asaba emphasized coordinated communication and effective engagement to drive economic growth and national development
Uzodimma stressed translating government policies into relatable language and engaging directly with communities.
He emphasized listening, transparency, and data-driven communication while countering misinformation with facts.
Oborevwori emphasized sustaining engagement, defending government policies, and translating support into electoral victories.
He warned that fragmented messaging would weaken the party’s impact and create opportunities for opposition forces.
Immediate ast Governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa highlighted achievements like improved foreign reserves, increased oil production, expanded healthcare access, education reforms, and infrastructure development.
However, he acknowledged a communication gap limiting public appreciation of these gains.
Uzodimma noted improvements in macro-economic indicators, but emphasized bridging the gap between gains and grassroots realities.
Ambassadors must actively engage citizens in markets, communities, and institutions, using facts and relatable examples to explain reforms and counter misinformation.
The summit produced a comprehensive national work plan outlining timelines, responsibilities, and deliverables aimed at driving economic growth and national development.
Participants were urged to replicate strategies discussed in their respective states and local government areas, with emphasis on measurable actions, continuous engagement, and unified messaging.
The summit concluded with a call for commitment, discipline, and coordinated action, emphasizing effective communication and sustained public engagement for success in reforms and future elections.
