The Delta Online Publishers Forum (DOPF) has announced its upcoming 2025 Convention and Annual Lecture, which will Focus on Balancing Taxation and Economic Growth
The event is scheduled to take place in Asaba, Delta State, from November 26 to 27, 2025.
The two-day event will commence with the induction of new members and a capacity-building training session for media practitioners, followed by the Annual Lecture on the second day.
This year’s lecture theme, “Nigeria’s New Tax Law: Implications and Opportunities for Businesses and Society,” is particularly timely, given the impending implementation of the new tax legislation on January 1, 2026. The new law represents a significant overhaul of Nigeria’s tax framework, aiming to simplify the system, reduce revenue leakages, and enhance transparency in public finance.

The Convention and Annual Lecture will provide a platform for stakeholders to discuss the opportunities and challenges posed by the new law, exploring its potential impact on businesses, government accountability, and social development.
A keynote speaker with expertise in fiscal and economic policy will lead the discussion, supported by a panel of experts from government agencies, professional bodies, civil society organizations, and the private sector.
The event underscores DOPF’s commitment to professional development within the media sector, fostering knowledge sharing, informed debate, and capacity building among media practitioners. By engaging in this national discourse, the Forum aims to contribute to the effective implementation of the new tax law, balancing the interests of businesses and society.
