The Coordinators of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited and President Generals of all Urhobo Communities have rejected the call by the Urhobo Progress Union (UPU) for the federal government to terminate Tantita’s oil pipeline surveillance contract.

In a press briefing attended by over 2,000 Tantita employees, they unanimously passed a vote of confidence in Tantita’s management.

The communities noted that Tantita has employed over 3,500 Urhobo youths from 88 communities in 16 kingdoms, making it the highest employer of labor in Urhobo land. They praised Tantita’s efforts in reducing vandalism, oil theft, and environmental degradation, and called on Urhobo indigenes to ignore the UPU’s publication.

The President General of Evwreni Community, Chief Ukpebitere, cautioned against bringing division between the Urhobo Nation and Tantita for personal interests. A vote of confidence was passed in support of Tantita’s management, and the communities reaffirmed their commitment to working harmoniously with the company.

Highlights of the event was the vote of confidence passed on High Chief Government Ekpemuopolo, Kestin Pondi, Dr Paul Bebenimibo, and Tantita Security Services.

The motion for the vote of confidence was raised by the national President of Urhobo Youth Council, Mr Godspower Enerho and it was unanimously adopted.
