The Uvwie Kingdom in Delta State is set to host a grand celebration  as the Philosopher-King and Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Emmanuel Ekemejewa Sideso, Abe 1, JP, OON, marks his 18th coronation anniversary.

To commemorate this milestone, the monarch has unveiled his biography, “Odyssey of Royalty: The Reign of Abe 1, Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom,” which chronicles his vision, agenda, and efforts at promoting peace and stability in the kingdom.

The celebration, which begins on February 7, promises to be a grand affair, with several dignitaries expected to attend, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori. Other notable guests include members of the National and State Assemblies, ministers, commissioners, traditional rulers, and other eminent personalities from across the country.

The event will be chaired by Olorogun Festus Keyamo, while High Chief (Dr.) Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, the Ibe-Ebidouwei of the Ijaw Nation, will be the Chief Launcher. The book will be reviewed by Professor Joe Abugu, SAN, and the Chief Host of the event is Chief Hon. Solomon Igbrakpata.

A series of activities have been lined up to mark the celebration, including a 21-gun salute, the conferment of chieftaincy titles on 36 deserving individuals, and a thanksgiving Mass.

The newly installed chiefs will also pay homage to the monarch on February 16.

The Uvwie Kingdom, with its headquarters in Effurun, has undergone significant transformation under the reign of His Royal Majesty Emmanuel Sideso.

The kingdom has expanded from four to nine traditional administrative units, known as Etche, which has enhanced grassroots administration and community engagement.

Uvwie Local Government Area is a major hub for commercial, political, and socio-economic activities in Delta State, hosting several prominent hotels, industries, and key government and educational institutions.

The kingdom is also home to key security and military establishments, including the 3 Battalion of the Nigerian Army and the Nigerian Navy Hospital.

The biography of His Royal Majesty Emmanuel Sideso provides a concise historical account of the Uvwie Kingdom and chronicles his vision and agenda upon ascending the throne.

The book is a testament to the monarch’s commitment to promoting peace and stability in the kingdom.
