Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has extended his warmest congratulations to the Ohworode of Olomu Kingdom, His Majesty Albert Akpomudje, Eyavwie-Alaka I, on his appointment as the 54th Chairman of the Nigerian Body of Benchers.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, Oborevwori expressed immense pride and delight over the monarch’s elevation, hailing it as a moment of great honour for Delta State and its people.

The Governor noted that Deltans are ecstatic about the recognition accorded the revered traditional ruler and renowned legal luminary, and he wished him a successful, impactful, and distinguished tenure. “On behalf of my family, the government, and the good people of Delta State, I heartily congratulate the Ohworode of Olomu Kingdom, His Majesty Albert Akpomudje, Eyavwie-Alaka I, on his emergence as the 54th Chairman of the Nigerian Body of Benchers,” Oborevwori said.

Oborevwori commended Akpomudje’s illustrious career in the legal profession, expressing confidence that his vast experience and expertise would further fortify the integrity and standards of the legal system in Nigeria.

He praised Akpomudje’s professional excellence, leadership capacity, and dedication to the legal profession, which earned him this prestigious appointment.

Akpomudje succeeded former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Olukayode Ariwoola, as Chairman of the Body of Benchers, the apex regulatory institution for the legal profession in Nigeria, established under the Legal Practitioners Act.

The monarch, a seasoned lawyer and the 14th Ohworode of Olomu Kingdom, was crowned on November 15, 2025, and his emergence as Chairman of the Body of Benchers is widely regarded as a testament to his outstanding contributions to the legal profession.
