He tendered his letter of resignation to the chairman of his ward (Ogheye) in Warri on the 16TH January 2023.

He said Hon Reynieju is a major boost to the APC which is set to rescue Delta State from the grips that retard its progress and development.
Onowakpo said Reynieju’s importance to any political party cannot be underestimated adding that since the likes of the former member of Delta House of Assembly, Dr Tonye Timi has decided to join Reynieju and former Executive Assistant to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, and ex-chairman, of Technical Education Board, Comr Michael Akpobire, is a pointer that APC would take over delta state.
On his part, Reynieju, a three-term federal lawmaker stated that his time with the “PDP has exposed” him “to various democratic experiences from electoral victories to losses.
While he thank the party for providing the platform through which he occupied the seat of Warri Federal Constituency in the Green Chambers of the National Assembly, he regretted and prayer prayed God Almighty intervenes in the affairs of Delta State, since man has deliberately and consistently failed to make the right decisions”.
High point of the meeting was the decoration of Hon Daniel Reynieju, Dr Tonye Timi, and Comr Michael Akpobire with the JOT senatorial muffler by Joel-Onowakpo and APC Delta south senatorial chairman, Austin Oribioye. .
