Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to tackling security issues in the state.

Speaking at the Delta Online Publishers Forum’s annual lecture in Asaba, he emphasized that security is a top priority, as it enables social and economic growth.

The governor outlined his administration’s strategies, including:

– *Enhanced Peace and Security*: The fourth component of the MORE Agenda, focusing on conflict prevention, resolution, and control.
– *Stakeholder Engagement*: Collaborating with traditional rulers, community leaders, youths, and women to maintain peace.
– *Cultural Interfaces*: Promoting cultural exchange between communities.
– *Youth Empowerment*: Engaging youths in productive employment through social safety net schemes.
– *Security Support*: Donating operational vehicles to security agencies and rebranding the state joint security force as “Operation Delta Sweep.”

Governor Oborevwori commended security agencies for their efforts in combating crimes and assured continued support for peace and security in Delta State ¹. He also acknowledged the Delta Online Publishers Forum’s role in promoting transparency and openness in governance.
