Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has reiterated his administration’s commitment to quality infrastructure and timely project delivery during inspection visits to the ongoing Ugbolu–Okpanam and Phase 2 of Oko-Anala – Oko-Ogbele – Oko-Odifili Road projects

The Governor inspected the 12.12-kilometre Ugbolu–Okpanam Road project, which is designed with 7.7-metre-wide concrete drains on both sides and an overall width of approximately 11 metres. The project features an 8-metre main carriageway and a comprehensive drainage system to address flooding concerns in the area. The contractor has assured completion by December this year, ahead of the original 18-month timeline.

The road’s drainage system is critical to addressing flooding challenges in the area.

The road connects Ugbolu and Okpanam communities, enhancing social and economic activities.
The project is part of the administration’s efforts to spread infrastructure across various local government areas.

The Governor also inspected Phase 2 of the Oko-Anala – Oko-Ogbele – Oko-Odifili Road project, which spans about five kilometres. Despite the challenging terrain, the administration has fully mobilised the contractor and made funds available for the project.

Large quantities of unsuitable clay soil were excavated and removed to ensure a stable foundation.

The contractor’s initial timeline of August 2027 was rejected; completion is expected by December this year or early next year.

The Governor emphasized the importance of quality work and timely delivery.

Governor Oborevwori stressed that his administration prioritises quality and will not compromise on standards. Contractors are expected to deliver quality work and complete projects on time to secure future contracts.
