Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has reassigned two commissioners to oversee additional ministries following the resignation of two members of the State Executive Council.
In a statement issued Friday by the Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, the Governor directed Princess Pat Ajudua, Commissioner for Women Affairs, Community and Social Development, to take charge of the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Community Support Services and Girl Child Development pending further directives.
Similarly, Hon. Godknows Angele, Commissioner for Housing, has been directed to supervise the Ministry of Youth Development with immediate effect.
According to Aniagwu, the reassignment became necessary after the resignation of Ms. Orode Uduaghan, former Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Community Support Services and Girl Child Development, and Barr. ThankGod Harry Trakiriowei, former Commissioner for Youth Development.
Both former commissioners resigned to pursue their political ambitions ahead of the 2027 general elections, specifically to contest seats in the Delta State House of Assembly.
Governor Oborevwori thanked Uduaghan and Trakiriowei for their patriotic service to the state and wished them success in their future endeavours.
Aniagwu noted that the new supervisory arrangements take immediate effect and will remain until further announcements by the state government.
