Delta Approves ₦400bn for Roads, Police Facilities, Others

The Delta State Government has announced the commencement of registration for the Tertiary Institutions Entrepreneurship Programme (TEP), a youth-focused initiative aimed at promoting innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic empowerment among students of state-owned tertiary institutions.

The programme is designed to identify, nurture, and support students with innovative and bankable business ideas, while equipping them with the necessary skills and resources to become successful entrepreneurs and job Creators.

The programme is open to students of Delta State-owned universities, including:

– University of Delta (UNIDEL)
– Delta State University (DELSU)
– Southern Delta University (SDU)
– Dennis Osadebay University (DOU)

To be eligible, applicants must:

– Be of Delta State origin
– Be aged between 18 and 35 years
– Be in 200 Level, 300 Level, or penultimate year of study
– Have a minimum CGPA of 2.5
– Have an innovative and viable business idea.

Interested and eligible students are required to apply online through the official application portal, (link unavailable) As part of the application process, candidates are to upload relevant documents, including:

– A recent passport photograph
– Admission letter
– Birth certificate
– Local government of origin certificate
– A detailed business plan proposal

Programme Objectives

The Tertiary Institutions Entrepreneurship Programme (TEP) is aimed at:

– Identifying and nurturing students with innovative and bankable business ideas
– Equipping students with the necessary skills and resources to become successful entrepreneurs and job creators
– Promoting innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic empowerment among students of state-owned tertiary institutions

The Delta State Government has expressed its commitment to youth development and sustainable economic growth through initiatives like the TEP.

The government urges qualified students across the eligible institutions to seize the opportunity to develop their entrepreneurial potential and contribute meaningfully to the state’s economic advancement.
