Oborevwori Urges New Appointees to Uphold High Standards

Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has extended Christmas greetings to the people of Delta State, urging them to uphold the values of love, unity, and Christ-like living as the cornerstone for peaceful coexistence and sustainable development in the state.

In his Christmas message, issued by Chief Press Secretary Sir Festus Ahon, Governor Oborevwori encouraged Deltans and residents to use the festive season to reflect on the virtues of sacrifice, compassion, and selfless service embodied by Jesus Christ.

He also called on them to renew their commitment to building a more harmonious society.

The governor expressed his appreciation for the resilience, unity, and unwavering support shown by the people of Delta State, noting that their cooperation has been instrumental in the progress achieved so far.

He described the Christmas season as an opportunity for thanksgiving and renewed hope, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to delivering good governance and inclusive development in line with the MORE Agenda.

Governor Oborevwori highlighted notable achievements recorded in the last two years, particularly in infrastructure development, healthcare delivery, education, youth empowerment, agriculture, and security.

Some of the notable projects mentioned include the ongoing construction of major roads and flyovers across the state, improvements in primary and secondary healthcare facilities, and sustained investments in human capital development.

The governor also acknowledged progress made in workers’ welfare, peacebuilding efforts, and social intervention programs aimed at supporting vulnerable groups, including widows, women, and youths.

He emphasized that these initiatives have helped promote stability and stimulate economic activities across the state.

Looking ahead to the new year, Governor Oborevwori assured Deltans of better days ahead, disclosing that the 2026 Delta State budget has been carefully designed to prioritize infrastructure expansion, job creation, education, healthcare, agriculture, and youth empowerment.

He stated, “The 2026 budget has been carefully designed to consolidate on our gains and address the pressing needs of our people. It reflects our commitment to improving the quality of life of Deltans and ensuring that development reaches every part of the state.”

The governor reaffirmed his commitment to people-oriented policies, programs, and projects, assuring that no community will be left behind in the state government’s development efforts.

He urged Deltans to continue supporting his administration and to uphold peace, tolerance, and unity, emphasizing that collective effort remains vital to achieving the state’s long-term development plans.

As the festive season unfolds, Governor Oborevwori wished residents a joyful Christmas celebration and prayed for a peaceful and prosperous new year.

Oberevwori expressed confidence that Delta State would witness greater progress and economic opportunities in the years ahead, noting that “Christmas reminds us of the power of hope and the triumph of light over darkness. As we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, let us work together to build a stronger and more prosperous Delta State for present and future generations.”
