Burutu North 1: Masah Godwin Promises People-First Leadership

A House of Assembly hopeful for Burutu North Constituency 1 in Delta State, Hon. Godwin Masah, has reaffirmed his intention to contest for the seat, with a promise to deliver people-focused and purposeful leadership.

In a statement issued on his behalf by Charles Masah and made available to Trackup-News, Masah said his aspiration is built on the principles of hard work, creativity, focus and putting the people first.

He stated that his blueprint for Burutu North is centred on embarking on sustainable and people-lifting programmes, as opposed to what he described as the temporary, self-serving style of leadership the area has endured over time.

According to the statement, Burutu North is at a critical stage where it needs a legislator who can turn the needs of the people into laws, and laws into tangible results.

The statement noted that Masah’s message is simple and clear, adding that he commands a voice that speaks to the genuine needs of his people regardless of party affiliation.

It further stated that Masah understands that legislation goes beyond law-making, stressing that it is about solving real problems, including fixing roads, equipping hospitals, opening schools and creating opportunities for youths.

The campaign statement added that having served in multiple capacities since Nigeria’s return to democracy in 1999, Masah understands where Burutu North should be among other constituencies in the state.

It disclosed that he has the experience to sponsor and support legislation bordering on infrastructure, education, health and economic empowerment, as well as the courage to provide effective oversight to ensure that what is budgeted for Burutu North is actually delivered.

The statement also described Masah as a grassroots mobilizer with humility and accessibility, qualities it said are essential for a true representative who must first be a servant of the people.

It argued that Burutu North has suffered too long from trial-and-error leadership and promises without performance, adding that what the constituency needs now is a lawmaker who can translate the cry of the people into policy and policy into projects.

The statement therefore called on constituents to support the aspiration, noting that the train has left the station and is heading to its right destination, with Masah as the driver.

It concluded with Ijaw expressions, “Burutu North mein ama-ebe se ibe toru ama dede. Ebe Masah!” and “Wonu fiyei ama-ebe se votu eh!” while urging the people to vote for experience, representation and results.

It urged the electorate to vote for Masah and the NDC for a Burutu North that works.
