The panel announced by the organizers includes Dr. Wilfred Latimore Oghenesivbe, Dr. Egondu Grace Ikeatu, Hon. Gibson Akporhe, Amb. Augusta Chibuzor Keneboh, and Professor Andrew Agboro.

They are expected to guide conversations around democratic governance and institutional accountability.

Emmanuel O. Enebeli, the Secretary of the Advisory Board and Executive Director of BEL Dialogue, made the announcement.

According to him, the selection was deliberate and reflects the organization’s commitment to bringing together people with deep experience in governance, legal practice, public administration, policy advocacy, and civic engagement.

The goal, he said, is to ensure robust and practical conversations on the future of democracy in Nigeria.

This year’s dialogue will be held under the theme: “Democracy That Works: Bridging the Gap Between Votes, Results and Institutional Accountability.”

Enebeli explained that discussions will center on electoral integrity, institutional transparency, accountable leadership, citizen participation, and specific reforms needed to strengthen democratic institutions ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He noted that over the years, the BEL Dialogue has become a credible platform that brings together voices from different sectors.

It provides participants with opportunities to exchange ideas, interrogate public policies, and propose actionable solutions to challenges affecting governance and democratic development in the country.

BEL Dialogue 2026 will take place on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.

The venue is David’s Event Centre on Anwai Road, opposite Temple Clinic Junction, Asaba.

The Dialogue will be chaired by Hon. Mike Igini, former Resident Electoral Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

The Special Guest of Honour is Hon. Charles Aniagwu, Delta State Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information.

Moderating the interactive session will be Mr. Lawrence Okpewho, veteran broadcaster and General Manager of Kruzz FM, Asaba.

Enebeli expressed confidence that the 2026 edition will generate meaningful public discourse and produce recommendations that can help strengthen democratic institutions, promote accountability, and foster responsible leadership across Nigeria.
