The Delta State Government will hold a statewide Praise and Thanksgiving Service on Friday, May 29, 2026, as part of events marking Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s third year in office.
Tagged _Delta State Praise and Thanksgiving Day 2026_, the event is set for 10:00 a.m. at the Dome Event Centre in Asaba, with Governor Oborevwori serving as Chief Host.
State Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, announced this in a statement on Wednesday and called on Deltans from all backgrounds to attend the spiritual gathering.
Aniagwu said the service is meant to thank God for the peace, unity, and developmental progress recorded in the state since the administration began. It will also offer gratitude for God’s guidance and blessings over Delta State.
The programme will bring together political leaders, government officials, traditional rulers, religious leaders, youths, and residents in an atmosphere of worship, thanksgiving, and prayers for continued progress. Aniagwu noted that it would give citizens a chance to reflect on the administration’s achievements over the past three years and seek divine direction for greater accomplishments ahead.
“The Delta State Praise and Thanksgiving Day offers us an opportunity to appreciate God Almighty for His grace, peace and blessings upon our state and to seek His continued guidance as we continue on the path of growth and development,” he said.
Prayers will also be offered for sustained peace, unity, and prosperity in Delta State and Nigeria.
The commissioner urged residents to turn out in large numbers and participate actively. The service will feature worship and praise sessions, with renowned cleric Apostle Joshua Selman ministering.
Governor Oborevwori is expected to lead government officials and other stakeholders at the gathering, which is one of the key events lined up for the administration’s third anniversary celebrations.
