The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has expressed deep sadness over a tragic boat mishap that occurred along Bennett Island River in Warri South-west, Delta State.
Guwor was involved in the incident but miraculously survived, while five others lost their lives
According to the press release by his Chief Press Secretary, MR. Nkem Nweke, the Speaker was returning to Asaba after engaging with constituents when the boat he was in almost collided with another, resulting in the tragic loss of life.
His heart goes out to the families of the deceased, and he prays for their strength and comfort during this difficult time.
Guwor who is is still in shock over the incident is grateful to God for sparing his life and that of others who survived. He also appreciates the prompt response of the rescue team and medical personnel.
The Speaker however called for a thorough investigation into the cause of the incident to prevent similar tragedies in the future. He commiserates with the families of the victims and prays for the repose of their souls
