Troops of the Nigerian Army’s 8 Division, in collaboration with local vigilantes, have neutralized a notorious bandit leader, Kachalla Kallamu, in Sokoto State.
Kallamu, a close associate of infamous bandit leader Bello Turji, was killed in a military operation in Kurawa village, Sabon Birnin Local Government Area.
The bandit kingpin was killed alongside one of Turji’s major logistics suppliers.
Kallamu was known for terrorizing residents in the area, causing significant distress.
He had recently returned to the area after fleeing a previous military operation in June 2025.
The operation was successful due to intelligence support from locals.
Citizens, including the Special Adviser to Governor Ahmad Aliyu on Security Matters, have welcomed the news.
The military’s continued efforts to combat banditry have yielded results, bringing relief to affected communities.
