In a swift response to the abduction of the Sapele Local Government Chairman, the Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, Yemi Oyeniyi, psc, conducted an on-the-spot assessment of the incident scene in Sapele.
The CP inspected the scene of the incident, Debro Fred Guest house for first-hand situational clarity
He also visited Ogorode Waterside where the Vehicle that was reportedly used in the operation was recovered which stands as further direction for intelligence exploitation and forensic follow-up
The CP also paid a visit to the wife of the abducted LGA Chairman, conveying empathy and assuring the family that everything is being done to ensure his safe return.
Additionally, he visited the hospitals where some of the injured victims are receiving treatment
The CP has informed the public that adequate resources has been deployed to track down perpetrators.
The police said it’s Working on credible information to rescue the victim unhurt
He explained that the Delta Police Command is in synergy with other security agencies to ensure success
The CP however urged residents of Sapele and Delta State to remain vigilant and cooperate with police by providing credible and timely information. “Public support is vital to the success of ongoing operations” he stated.
The Delta State Police Command reassures the public of its commitment to protecting lives and property and will take decisive steps to bring the perpetrators to justice.
