Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has advised newly trained police cadets of Delta State origin to maintain the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and respect for the rule of law as they embark on their careers in the Nigeria Police Force.

The governor gave this charge on Wednesday while receiving the cadets at Government House, Asaba, following their successful completion of training at the Nigeria Police Academy.

Governor Oborevwori congratulated the cadets on their remarkable achievement, noting that passing out from the Police Academy reflects discipline, resilience, commitment, and patience.

He reminded them that they had chosen a noble but demanding profession that requires dedication, integrity, and professionalism at all times.

The governor emphasized that the cadets are special to the state and that the state is proud of them.

The governor urged the cadets to let their conduct inspire confidence in the communities they would serve, stressing that their actions must always reflect the values of justice, fairness, and selfless service. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to security, noting that Delta State had recorded significant improvements in safety and security over the past two years.

The governor assured the cadets that the state government would continue to support security agencies to do more.

To further motivate the cadets, Governor Oborevwori announced the approval of payment of monthly allowances for the cadets with effect from January.

He wished them a successful and fulfilling career in service to Delta State and Nigeria.

The governor encouraged the young officers to serve diligently and protect the lives and property of Deltans and residents.

Responding on behalf of the cadets, the President of the Police Cadets, ASP Collins Akpevweoghene, thanked the governor for the warm reception and encouragement.

He described the governor’s presence as a reflection of people-centred leadership and genuine concern for security and youth development.

ASP Akpevweoghene commended Governor Oborevwori for the improvements recorded in security, infrastructure, education, healthcare, and youth empowerment under his administration.

He assured the governor of the cadets’ commitment to professionalism, integrity, and selfless service.

The cadet president prayed for continued wisdom, good health, and strength for the governor as he leads the state to greater heights.

The occasion underscored the governor’s commitment to security and youth development in Delta State.
