National Sports Festivals::Delta Police Command Assures Maximum Security

In a bid to provide adequate security for lives and property of participants and supporters during the 21St National Sports Festival in Asaba, the Delta Police Command has deployed police officers across all venues of the event including hotels and other places where the participants will be accommodated

The Police Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe disclosed this in a press statement made available to Track Upnews

The statement st hiated that the event which is tagged “Asaba 2022” has the State Commissioner of Police, Ari Muhammed as the Chairman of the security Committee.

It further explained that the police Boss gave an operational order- an action plan for security deployment of manpower to Asaba and it’s environs to forestall any breakdown of law and order during the ceremony.

The manpower were drawn from, Warri, Ughelli and other towns down to Asaba to take over the space so as to deprive hoodlums from carring out their nefarious activities during the tournament

The statement also disclosed that Divisions and other security agencies, deployments have also been drawn from Dragon Patrol, Safer highway Patrol, Quick Response Squad, Rapid Response squad, Eagle-net Special Squad, Crack Squad, Raider’s Squad, Marine Police, Anti-Bomb, Buffalo team, 31&51 PMF,.
Anti-Kidnapping and Cyber Crime squad.

The State traffic officer were also strategically positioned at their respective duty post as directed by the CP
to ensure visibility, and strict supervision of Policemen deployed for the purpose of ensuring free flow of traffic in synergy with the Federal Road Safety corps of Nigeria (FRSCN), the Delta state traffic management authority (DESTMA) and other agencies.

The Delta Command Police Boss however assured all participants and supporters at the tournament adequate security, maintenance of law and order, protection of lives and property..

The PPRO, Bright Edafe in an interview expressed satisfaction on the extent the police force and other related security personnels have maned their respective duty post.

He was optimistic of the tournament ending with lives and property adequately protected.

The event which commenced on the 28 of November 2022
in Asaba, the Delta State will end on the 10TH of December 2022.
