Gunmen on Saturday razed the High Court building in Orlu, Imo State.
Eye witnesses stated that the suspects burnt a section of the court housing sensitive documents.
Report says the gunmen on arrival were said to have opened fire on the building and threw explosives on top of the roof.
It’s the second attack on the court building, the first being 2018 when gunmen burnt part of the building.
Spokesperson for the police in the state, Mike Abattam, who also confirmed the attack, said the police had launched an investigation into the incident.
The development came a few days after some gunmen attacked the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission in Owerri, the state capital.
Meanwhile, the Orlu High Court is located close to a security checkpoint as well as the Divisional Police headquarters.
