Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has emphasized that education is a powerful tool for societal transformation.

He made this statement when the Managing Director of Midwestern Oil and Gas Company Limited, Mrs. Elozino Olaniyi, and her team paid a courtesy visit to Government House, Asaba.

The Governor commended Midwestern Oil and Gas for its scholarship programs and investment in education, youth empowerment, and community support.

He noted that the company’s growth in the energy sector must go hand-in-hand with social responsibility.

The Governor acknowledged the company’s strong safety record and environmental responsibility, highlighting its achievement of over seven million man-hours without a Lost Time Injury.

The Governor assured the delegation that his administration is committed to creating an enabling environment for responsible businesses to thrive

He emphasized the importance of collaboration between government and the private sector for peace, economic stability, and long-term growth.

Mrs. Olaniyi stated that the company prioritizes values and non-financial impact in its operations.

The company has invested over $2 million in scholarships, benefiting 298 students across the country, including those from Delta State and other host communities
