A peace and environmental rights advocate, Dr. Mulade Sheriff, has urged Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to prioritize large-scale industrialization to address rising unemployment and socio-economic challenges in the state.
In a statement sent to Trackup-news.com, Mulade expressed concern over the alarming unemployment rate, particularly among youths, which he believes poses a security threat.
While acknowledging the Governor’s achievements in infrastructure development, Mulade stressed that physical infrastructure alone is not enough to tackle poverty, hunger, and joblessness.
He emphasized the need for policies that stimulate industrial growth and create employment opportunities.
Mulade suggested reviving moribund industries and creating an environment that attracts investors.
He highlighted Delta State’s strategic location, natural resources, and human capital as advantages for becoming an industrial hub.
“Aggressive industrialization will reduce unemployment, boost revenue, and enhance economic stability,” Mulade noted
Mulade gave Key points as:
– Industrialization can curb unemployment and socio-economic challenges
– Delta State has potential to become an industrial hub
– Government should support small and medium-scale enterprises and attract investors
