DOPF Advocates Women Empowerment through Digital Storytelling

The Delta State Executive Council has approved ₦230 billion worth of projects across various sectors, including health, road infrastructure, energy, and riverine development.

The approvals were disclosed by the State Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, during a press briefing after the State Executive Council meeting held at Government House, Asaba, presided over by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.

*Major Projects Approved:*

– *Flyovers*: Design and construction of flyovers at Uromi Junction (₦59.7 billion) and Otovwodo Junction (₦39.3 billion)
– *Road Construction*: Various road projects, including Kolokolo to Tisun road, Bulu-Angiama Road, and Ituru Road
– *Flood Control*: Flood control works in Ika South (₦15.3 billion) and Oshimili South LGA
– *Healthcare*: Procurement and installation of MRI machines at Asaba Specialist Hospital, Central Hospital Warri, and Delta State University Teaching Hospital

*Other Approvals:*

– *Compensation*: ₦10 billion compensation for landowners affected by the Second Niger Bridge Access Road project
– *Energy Policy*: Adoption of the Delta State Electricity Policy
– *Infrastructure Development*: Various infrastructure projects, including internal roads and community roads [1]

Those present at the press briefing were Delta State Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Mr Charles Aniagwu,
Commissioner for Works (Urban Roads), Hon. Reuben Izeze , Commissioner for Economic Planning, Mr. Sunny Ekedaye, Commissioner, Directorate of Riverine Infrastructure, Mr. Ebikeme Clark, and the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Sir Festus Ahon
