The Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has extended his warm congratulations to the Ovie of Idjerhe Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Obukowho Monday Whiskey, JP, Udurhie I, on the occasion of his 60th birthday and fifth coronation anniversary.
The twin celebration, which falls on Sunday, January 18, 2026, marks a significant milestone in the life and reign of the revered monarch.
In a congratulatory message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, Governor Oborevwori described the occasion as a remarkable milestone that reflects sixty years of birth and five years of purposeful, stable, and people-oriented traditional leadership in Idjerhe Kingdom. He noted that the anniversary provides an opportunity to reflect on the monarch’s contributions to the preservation of cultural values, peaceful coexistence, and the overall progress of the kingdom.
The Governor commended the Idjerhe monarch for his exemplary leadership, which has been anchored on wisdom, humility, and inclusiveness.
He noted that since ascending the throne, Udurhie I has strengthened unity among the people of Idjerhe and promoted enduring peace. The peaceful atmosphere enjoyed in the kingdom today is a testament to the monarch’s commitment to dialogue, consensus-building, and respect for traditional institutions.
Governor Oborevwori also commended the Idjerhe monarch for his support for development initiatives and his cooperation with government at all levels.
He noted that such partnership has continued to advance grassroots development and socio-economic growth in the area.
The Governor added that the monarch’s reign has been marked by stability and progress, earning him the respect and admiration of his subjects and well-meaning Deltans.
The Governor prayed for God’s continued guidance, good health, and longevity for the royal father, wishing him many more years of impactful service on the throne.
