Nigeria’s crude oil production has surged to 1.8 million barrels per day (bpd) and gas production to 7.4 billion standard cubic feet per day.
The board and management of NNPCL, announced the feat on Thursday during a Press briefing.
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) and Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL) are being praised for achieving this milestone.
Tantita’s relentless fight against oil theft and vandalism has contributed significantly to this success.
NNPCL’s Group CEO, Kyari, credits the Production War Room Team and collaborative efforts with security agencies and stakeholders.
According to Tantita’s Chairman, Chief Government Ekpemubolo popularly called Tompolo, his team is committed to achieving this target, using new technologies to monitor facilities and prevent disruptions.
Tompolo who said that this achievement is expected to boost Nigeria’s revenue and support the government’s efforts explained that the feat was achieved in compliance with the mandate of President of Nigeria , Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
AKyari and Tompolo said the goal is to achieve 2 million bpd by December, 2024
It will be recalled Tantita has lately led a relentless war against crude oil theft and pipelines’ vandalism, pursing oil thieves out of the nation’s coastal environment as well as seizing and confiscating their equipment of illicit trade.
It was gathered that most of the oil thieves abandoned the nefarious business in the wake of the onslaught and ceaseless heat by the operatives of Tantita security services positioned in the coastal axis of the Niger Delta.
These collaborative efforts with other state actors significantly contributed to the latest rise in the quantum of production of crude and gas resources.
Report also says that Tantita has initiated clampdown measures to keep the oil thieves at bay with a view to realising 2 million bpd of crude oil production by the end of December, in conjuction with other industry stakeholders.
