Delta Govt Launches ANPR System to Enforce Traffic Laws*

The Delta State Government has approved over ₦400 billion for infrastructure projects, focusing on roads, security, and social amenities.

The projects, approved by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, cover 17 local government areas, including Warri South, Ughelli North, and Ika North-East.

Key projects include:
– Building 25 police divisional headquarters and a Special Protection Unit (SPU) base to boost security

Major roads to be Rehabilitated include:
Aghalokpe–SPDC–Adagbrassa–Aragba Road and adjoining streets in Okpe

Okotomewo/Oviri Court/Adeje Road in Okpe

Powerline Road in Sapele

Warri Internal Ring Road Phase 2 in Warri South/Uvwie

Trans-Warri Ode-Itsekiri Road and Access Roads in Ubeji

Eku–Osubi Road Phase Two from Ugolo Junction to Eku

Jesse–Boboroko Road in Ethiope West

Internal roads to be Constructed are:

Barrister Omamuzo Erebe and Eze Akporube Streets in Oshimili North

Asagba Palace Road, off Nnebisi Road, and GBC Murphy Avenue in Asaba

Chris Abudeyi Street and Ogbeeshi Monochie Street in Asaba

Tutulane/Obodokwu Road in Sapele

Orient Drive off NPA Expressway and Orient Way, off Niger Cat Road in Ekpan

Sir Paul Awoboboe Close in Warri

Macaulay and Mitubiri Roads in Bomadi

Internal roads in Odimodi and Ogulagha communities in Burutu

Roads to be upgraded includes:

*Ika North-East:* Asuen Road in Owa-Ekei, Obi Ifeanayi Chukwu Road in Mbiri

*Ika South:* Idumuigwe Road and Ogebe-Aku Road in Akumazi

*Ndokwa East:* Ogbedigbo Afọr Road with a spur to Obi Palace Road

*Ndokwa West:* Ebendo–Iyasele–Ashaka Road

Improving education and justice infrastructure:

Constructing male and female hostels in state-owned universities

Renovating magistrate courts and area courts

Constructing judges’ quarters in Osubi and Asaba

Completing the Senate/Administrative Building at Delta State University, Abraka

The projects aim to improve transportation, security, and economic activities, and strengthen community connectivity.

Commissioner Charles Aniagwu emphasized the administration’s commitment to strengthening institutions and providing modern infrastructure for effective governance and service delivery.
