Edema stepped down to pursue his ambition of representing Warri South Constituency I in the Delta State House of Assembly, in line with Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s directive for political appointees seeking elective positions to vacate office.

The formal handover ceremony, held at the Board’s headquarters in Asaba, was marked by goodwill and mutual respect. Erhimedafe commended Edema’s service, acknowledging his contributions to the Board’s efforts, and wished him success in his political bid.

In his remarks, Erhimedafe assured residents of Delta State of his commitment to enhancing waste management operations, emphasizing that his administration would work diligently under Governor Oborevwori’s guidance to achieve a cleaner and healthier environment.

He called for the support and cooperation of stakeholders, stressing that effective waste management requires collective responsibility and active public participation.

Erhimedafe outlined plans to consolidate existing frameworks while introducing improved strategies to boost sanitation standards across urban and rural communities.

The Delta State Waste Management Board has experienced a series of leadership changes recently, with Hon. Bazim Chinye previously resigning to contest and win the election as Chairman of Aniocha North Local Government Council.

The latest transition reflects the evolving political landscape in Delta State, with expectations high for sustained improvements in environmental sanitation and waste disposal systems.

The Board’s new leadership is expected to build on previous efforts, addressing the state’s waste management challenges and promoting a cleaner environment.
