Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has officially launched the Local Government and Ward Coordinators of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, marking a significant milestone in the movement’s grassroots expansion across the state.
The inauguration ceremony, held in Asaba, brought together top government officials, party leaders, and stakeholders.
In his speech, Governor Oborevwori, represented by his Deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme, emphasized the importance of unity and coordination among the ambassadors, saying they are the “heartbeat of Renewed Hope at the grassroots.”
He explained that the inauguration of 25 Local Government and 270 Ward Coordinators creates a vital link between the government and the people at the grassroots level.
The governor tasked the ambassadors with engaging the people, listening to their concerns, and communicating the vision of the Renewed Hope agenda.
He urged them to mobilize support with discipline, ensure consistency in message and coordination in action, and uphold accountability, knowing that they represent the ideals of service, unity, and hope.
Governor Oborevwori also highlighted the achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, stating that the Renewed Hope agenda is not just a promise, but progress in action, with tangible benefits for the people.
He emphasized that the ambassadors have a clear mandate to highlight these achievements and communicate the government’s vision with clarity and conviction.
The immediate past Governor of Delta State, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, explained that the Renewed Hope Ambassadors initiative is a platform to lead conversations, engage Nigerians, and communicate government policies and achievements.
He urged the ambassadors to collaborate with local leaders, including ward chairmen, executive members, councillors, and party leaders, to effectively communicate government reforms, such as the fuel subsidy removal, which has boosted revenue allocation and enabled salary payments.
Dr. Okowa also emphasized the importance of effective communication in countering false narratives and explaining the benefits of government initiatives, such as the student loan scheme.
In his goodwill message, Delta State APC Chairman, Chief Solomon Areyenka, said the party is moving steadily towards success, while APC National Vice Chairman, Hon. Victor Giadom, reminded the ambassadors that leadership is local and they are the party’s representatives in their communities.
