Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has announced plans to make Delta State an attractive destination for investors.
Speaking during the presentation of staff of office to the Asagba of Asaba, Professor Epiphany Azinge, the governor emphasized the need for safety and security in communities and urban centers to achieve this goal.
Oborevwori congratulated the new Asagba on his ascension to the throne and noted that Asaba has become a city of choice for many due to its safety. However, he warned that some undesirable elements are taking advantage of the city’s growth to infiltrate it with sinister agendas.
The governor urged the Asagba and other traditional rulers to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities. He emphasized the importance of the traditional institution in maintaining peace and security, particularly in creating awareness about government policies and programs.
Oborevwori also appealed to the people of Asaba to support the new Asagba, saying that his success is also their success. He encouraged them to resist any attempts to cause disaffection in the kingdom.
Overall, the governor’s goal is to make Delta State a preferred destination for investors, and he believes that this can be achieved through the collective efforts of the government, traditional rulers, and the people.
