Dr. Paul Bebenimibo, Media Consultant to Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo has denied allegations linking Tompolo to a recent publication about Nnamdi Kanu.
He made it known to the press via a statement on Sunday.
The statement asserts that Tompolo did not author the publication which states that he (Tompolo) gave federal Government 21 days ultimatum to release Nnamdi Kanu.
The statement adds that Tompolo who is also the Chairman of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited reiterates his unwavering support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration and renewed agenda.
According to the statement, Tompolo’s enemies are behind the publication, aiming to discredit him due to his relentless efforts to combat illegal oil activities in the Niger Delta region.
The statement emphasized that Tompolo will not be deterred from carrying out his duties and reaffirmed his endorsement of President Tinubu for a second term in office.
This development comes amidst Tompolo’s increased visibility in Nigerian politics, particularly with his recent comments on the Rivers State crisis.
Tompolo had predicted the return of suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara, calling for peace and stability in the region.
He also expressed confidence in President Tinubu’s ability to steer the country towards greater development and emphasized the need to respect democratic principles
In a related development, Tompolo reportedly led a delegation to former President Goodluck Jonathan’s Otuoke home, urging him to abandon his 2027 presidential bid and support President Tinubu’s re-election bid.
According to sources, influential Niger Delta figures are pressuring Jonathan to shelve his ambition, citing weak regional support for his candidacy
Tompolo’s stance on President Tinubu’s re-election has been consistent, with him recently disclosing plans to embark on a nationwide mobilisation campaign to rally support for the President’s second term.
The Ijaw Nation leader has also been reaching out to traditional rulers and stakeholders across the country to garner support for Tinubu’s re-election bid .
